Online daemon-based licences
Package applicability is under review; follow the stated version and platform limits.
Check before stopping anything
- Confirm whether another authorised process or user is using the available concurrent seats.
- Record smlicctl status, client/daemon versions and the time of the failure.
- If all dependent SUN Magnetics jobs have finished, close the clients normally. Use the documented broker stop procedure when an idle broker needs to release its sessions.
Stop an idle broker
smlicctl stop affects every client using that broker and releases its online sessions. Use it only after dependent jobs have finished; avoid force-killing active work.
smlicctl stopAllow the server lease to clear
After an unclean shutdown, the server may retain the old seat until lease expiry. Use the actual reported expiry or support guidance. Older correspondence describes different lease intervals, so a fixed wait time is not reliable across versions.
Repeated relaunches, adding the same key again or rapid retries do not bypass a server denial or cooldown. If denial continues after expected expiry, send the failure time and redacted diagnostics to support.
