2.9.0 release target; scoped Windows current-source editor/C API checks
Package applicability is under review; follow the stated version and platform limits.
Start with current source analysis
Use completion to insert the intended supported token, and snippets to create an editable source pattern. The suggestions describe syntax and known symbols; choose circuit values and check the resulting source yourself. A suggestion or live text status is not a simulation result.
Extract the shared four-file teaching ZIP. Open cells.cir for local parameter completion and editor.cir for its include path. Use snippet.cir as the separate scratch file. Keep the files together; the paired navigation guide supplies the complete optional static C API client for agents.
Complete a local parameter without changing adjacent fields
- In cells.cir, temporarily change Rseries in out RVAL to Rseries in out RV. Put the caret after RV and request completion with Ctrl+Space on Windows/Linux or Cmd+Space on macOS.
- Select the RVAL parameter. Read its kind and contextual reference; its displayed default does not establish the effective value for every X instance. Escape dismisses the list and preserves RV.
- Request completion again, select RVAL and press Tab or Enter. The whole RV value token becomes RVAL, preserving the resistor name and terminals. One Undo restores RV. Undo the original temporary edit to return to the saved teaching source.
- Use the suggestion’s Reference/F1 or Definition/F12 actions when you need more context. These reference/navigation controls are documented; the scoped check here covers actual parameter acceptance/cancellation and Undo.

Complete a quoted include and correct a diagnostic
The checked include completion preserves existing quotes and can be undone. Other folder/quote/limit cases retain the maintained manual’s applicability limits. The native scenario waits for the real asynchronous candidate rather than treating an initial checking row as a filename.
- In editor.cir, temporarily replace the include argument with "ce", leaving the closing quote. Put the caret after ce, inside the quotes, and request completion.
- Wait for the directory result; a Checking/information row is not an insertable file. Select cells.cir and accept. The completed argument remains "cells.cir". Listing is relative to the saved containing source, not an arbitrary shell directory.
- For the recovery exercise, temporarily change the argument to "absent.cir". Read the current incomplete-analysis diagnostic and its source location. Restore the real reference and wait for current analysis; the native check returns to Text: no issues.
- Keep an unsaved buffer distinct from the disk copy. Save deliberately when the intended edit is ready. Before posting a diagnostic screenshot or JSON, review its source paths; a genuine path-bearing diagnostic image was withheld from this guide.
Insert and fill a linked subcircuit snippet
The native checks invoke the production insertion method with the actual built-in template and the production key handlers for field editing, Escape and Undo/Redo. Physical menu selection, all template/choice fields and user-library editing are not qualified by this check.
- Open snippet.cir and place the caret at the start of the .END line. Choose Edit > Insert snippet > Blocks > Subcircuit block, or the corresponding editor context menu entry.
- Replace the selected cell name with pair. The matching .ENDS name changes with it. Tab to the input, output and body fields; enter in, out and R1 in out 1000, respectively. Shift+Tab returns to an earlier field.
- Escape ends field editing and keeps the inserted text. One Undo restores the source from before insertion, including the filled field edits. Redo restores the completed source. Save explicitly when you want it on disk.
- The scratch file has no X instance, so an unused-subcircuit advisory can be expected. Use the reusable-cell guide to instantiate a cell and simulate a complete circuit. Keep actual errors and incomplete analysis separate from that advisory.

Use the same source contract from an agent
The paired navigation guide and the same ZIP provide inspect_editor.py, a complete static source-graph client. It reads saved files unless explicit included-source snapshots are supplied as overlays. Preserve its complete/incomplete verdict, diagnostic severities, declaration identities and source spans when proposing edits.
This API route supplies static inspection; it does not simulate the GUI completion popup or linked snippet session. Generate a complete source edit deliberately, inspect that exact generation and then run a suitable saved-circuit/numerical check when required. The CLI teaching check and native editor checks retain their separate meanings.

VAL-042 · Frozen Windows JoSIM 2.9 CLI
Normal licensed frozen maintained Windows JoSIM 2.9 CLI on complete public editor teaching inputs; two resistive dividers and missing-include recovery. No editor UI, physical accuracy or final-package qualification
Complete public teaching inputs only. Editor inspection is static and does not establish a numerical result. Native key/insertion handlers are checked; physical menu/picker, all language contexts, other platforms and final packages remain pending.
VAL-044 · Windows JoSIM 2.9 C API / CPython 3.13.11
Complete standard-library Python client through the matching Windows JoSIM 2.9 editor C API: source graph/spans/identity, explicit overlay, incomplete result, file preservation, Unicode path/UTF-8 columns and bounded input refusals. No numerical or GUI execution and no product licence configured by this client; the actual browser-downloaded four-file ZIP also passes nine checks using the exact full article/README PowerShell command with only Python/C API selections changed
Complete public teaching inputs only. Editor inspection is static and does not establish a numerical result. Native key/insertion handlers are checked; physical menu/picker, all language contexts, other platforms and final packages remain pending.
VAL-043 · Frozen maintained Windows JoSIM GUI 2.9
Normal current-source Windows JoSIM 2.9 native editor with 11 maintained-source comparisons: actual Outline, Peek, explicit References selection, unsaved include, Alt+Left/Right, parameter/include completion, Escape/Undo and built-in snippet/Redo. Key events use production handlers; snippet insertion uses its production method with the actual built-in template. No native simulation, physical menu/picker or final-package acceptance
