# Which file should I give TetraHenry®?

The documented TetraHenry® entry file is JSON. It connects the mesh to materials, excitation, calculation settings and outputs.

## Compatibility

Published standalone manual 1.1.40

Published guidance with release-applicability limits. Confirm package applicability before following this guide.

## Use the configuration as the entry point

The 1.1.40 manual requires a JSON input file containing the applicable settings and references. A mesh file alone does not provide the full simulation definition.

When InductEx® prepares a TetraHenry® calculation, inspect the configuration it generated and preserve its referenced files when investigating an engine failure.

## Check mesh semantics

The manual's modified FastHenry format assigns physical names to mesh entities. Material properties and excitation ports are specified through JSON; an ordinary FastHenry deck's embedded lambda, sigma or .external statements are not interchangeable with that interface.

## Match the engine release

The standalone manual, standalone download catalog and solver bundled with InductEx® can have different versions. This article describes the 1.1.40 manual; it is not a claim that every older or newer engine accepts identical settings.
