# Move software to another machine, OS or execution account

Install the target-platform package and check entitlement for the new context. Copying an executable or an old key does not establish that it will be licensed there.

## Compatibility

Issued licence terms and installed release apply

Published guidance with release-applicability limits. Confirm package applicability before following this guide.

## Prepare the new installation

1. Install the supported package and License Manager for the target OS and architecture. Use the installer rather than copying a program directory and assuming PATH and shortcuts have been configured.
2. Generate the new System ID from the intended host/account or remote execution context when support requests it.
3. Ask support to confirm transfer, reissue or activation requirements under the actual licence terms. Preserve the existing working setup until the change is coordinated.
4. Configure the issued licence path and verify authorisation on a small supplied example.

## Keep the terms specific

A hardware-locked licence, online seat and evaluation key can have different restrictions. A successful transfer in an older support thread does not establish universal OS portability, multi-user entitlement or a guaranteed activation time.
