# Generate a System ID after a machine or user change

Generate the identifier on the intended host and in the account/context that will run the software. Transfer the generated file digitally through private support.

## Compatibility

InductEx® 8 / JoSIM®-Pro 2.9.0 source

Published guidance with release-applicability limits. Confirm package applicability before following this guide.

## Prepare the right context

Install the supported SUN Magnetics License Manager first. System ID generation requires the daemon even before an activated product entitlement is available.

A changed computer, operating-system installation or execution account can affect a licence's identity match. An administrator shell is not a general cure: generate the ID from the context intended for normal use.

## Generate the file

1. In JoSIM®-Pro, open Help > About > Generate System ID... and choose a writable destination.
2. For InductEx® Core, open a terminal in a writable working directory and run inductex -id. Check for the newly generated SM_SysID.txt.
3. If generation fails, resolve the exact daemon/path diagnostic first. Repeatedly requesting a new key cannot repair a missing daemon.
4. Send the generated identifier file privately when support requests it. Do not transcribe a screenshot or publish identifiers in a shared issue.

## Verify the issued licence

Use the newly issued file on the intended machine and account. Test the product licence check before a long calculation. Identity generation alone does not activate a seat or prove authorisation.
