# JoSIM®-Pro reports a licensing problem or degraded mode

Check the License Manager, configured licence path and service availability. Correct the reported issue, then retry the licence check before simulating.

## Start with the reported condition

The documented causes include a missing or outdated License Manager, an unreadable or incorrect licence path, an unreachable service, an invalid/expired or hardware-mismatched licence, and unavailable concurrent seats. Use the reported condition to choose the next check.

## Check the setup

1. Install or update the SUN Magnetics License Manager required by the product. JoSIM®-Pro depends on smlicensed for System ID generation.
2. Correct the relevant licence-file, service, network or seat-availability issue, then choose Retry.
3. Use Continue degraded only when inspecting files or recovering work. A valid licence is still required for simulation.
4. If support requests a System ID, use Help > About > Generate System ID... with the daemon installed and available. Send the identifier through the private support channel.

## If an issued licence file is not detected

The manual documents setting its path once using the following command, then restarting the GUI. Replace the placeholder with the actual installed licence file path. Run this command by itself: adding -v exits before the path is saved.

## If the problem remains

Ask support to check expired, inactive, hardware-mismatched or account-side licensing conditions. Provide the product version and exact diagnostic through the private support channel.
